Gombe State, tucked in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria, was created on the 1st of October, 1996, by the then military administration of General Sani Abacha. It was carved out of the old Bauchi State, fulfilling a decades-long aspiration of the people.
Known as the "Jewel in the Savannah", Gombe is an agrarian state with rich cultural heritage and legendary hospitality. It is strategically bounded by Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa and Bauchi states, making it the hub of the Northeast.
