Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has appealed to those that were compensated in Mallam Inna, Kundulum and Wuro-kesa areas to vacate within one week to give way for the commencement of work on the proposed township roads project s in those areas.
The Governor, made the appeal on Monday when he visited the area. He expressed displeasure over the inability of those compensated long ago but failed to vacate in order to give way for the construction work calling, on the affected persons to urgently leave within the stipulated period so that the projects would commence.
He assured the people of his administrations readiness to open up rural roads across the state adding that, the road will be extended to Kurba in Yamaltu – Deba Local Government Council of the state.
Meanwhile the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of works and Infrastructure, Saleh Miyim, said nothing whatsoever was done on the road. He said the importance of the bridges cannot be over emphasized as the communities along the road are very close to the town and will boost the agricultural economy of the state.
The road project which is about 11.5 kilometers is awarded to Tinkapoints Nigeria Limited.
