RT. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed (Akko Central) is currently the Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly following the impeachment of Honourable Abubakar Sadiq Kurba on the 24^th November, 2020.

Hon Abubakar Mohammed hailed from Luggerowo area of Akko local Government Area of Gombe State, he attended Ngarannam Primary School, Tula, Brigadier Maimalari Day Secondary School, Maiduguri, Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri and A-3 Internet Solutions LTD. Abuja.

Hon. Abubakar Mohammed is humble and blessed to be among the intelligent Youth of the State, he obtained Upper Credit both in Diploma General Agriculture and Diploma in Computer Studies, Second Class Upper Division in BSc. Agricultural Economics and MSc. Agricultural Economics.

Hon. Abubakar started his career as Banker with EcoBank in his capacity as Fund Transfer and Relations Officer and later a Transaction Officer. Between 2014 and 2015, he taught as an academic staff with the department of Agricultural technology of Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, Borno State.

Hon. Abubakar Mohammed joined Politics in 2019 and was elected member representing Akko Central in the Gombe State House of Assembly. Before his election as the Speaker, he was the Chairman House Committee on Finance and Economic Planning.
