INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF AUDITOR-GENERAL FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, GOMBE STATE

The position of the Auditor-General for Local Governments in Gombe State
Will become vacant with effect from 16th May, 2022. The Gombe State Civil
Service Commission in line with its Statutory responsibility therefore, decided to
commence the process for the appointment of a new Auditor-General for Local
Governments in the State.
Consequently, the Gombe State Civil Service Commission, hereby advertises
the post of Auditor-General for Local Governments and calls for applications
from suitably qualified candidates to occupy the vacant position with the
following requirements:
1. QUALIFICATIONS:
A candidate must be a qualified accountant by Profession. He/She must also
be a member of a Professional Accounting body recognized by an Act of
Parliament in Nigeria and registered with the Financial Reporting Council of
Nigeria.
2. EXPERIENCE:
A candidate must have at least Fifteen (15) years relevant experience in the
Public Service or outside; and be able to demonstrate and provide independent
testament to a minimum of ten (10) years cognate experience in auditing the
public sector.
3. AGE:
An applicant shall not be above the age of Fifty-Six (56) years old at the time
of appointment.

4. HEALTH:
An applicant must enjoy good health to be able to endure the rigors of the
duties of the Auditor-General for Local Governments.
5. TENURE OF OFFICE:
The Auditor-General for Local Governments shall vacate office when he/she
attains the age of sixty (60) years. He/she is to serve for a term of four (4) years
and shall be deemed to be automatically reappointed for another term of four (4)
years provided that he/she has not reached the age of retirement (60 years).
6. CONDITION OF SERVICE/REMUNERATION:
The Auditor-General for Local Governments shall be paid such remuneration
and salary as prescribed by the State House of Assembly, but not exceeding the
amount determined by the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal
Commission. Salary and allowances shall be a charge on the Consolidated
Revenue Fund of the State. The Auditor-General for Local Governments shall
upon reaching thể age of retirement be entitled to pension for life at a rate
equivalent to the annual salary inclusive of all allowances of the incumbent
Auditor-General. Any pension granted to the retiring Auditor-General by virtue
of Section 35 of the State Audit Law shall be charged upon the Consolidated
Revenue Fund of the State,
7. METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Interested candidates are requested to apply through the official website of
Gombe State, www.gombestate.gov.ng. Also, handwritten applications and CVs
can be submitted through Office of the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service
Commission, Gombe State, not later than six (6) weeks from the date of this
advertisement.
