A health facility that would address the rate of deaths as a result of the bite by venomous snakes, common in African countries, will soon the operational.

Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo revealed this during an inspection of the road network that is the final phase of work for the completed Kaltungo snake bite hospital to be commission.

The project which was conceived by governor Dankwambo’s administration looking at the plight of snake bite victims that are not only from Gombe state but also from neighbouring states and beyond the boundaries of Nigeria who come to Kaltungo to seek for remedy to snake bites. Established a modern health centre that can accommodate the huge number of patients trooping into Gombe in search for anti-snake venom medication.

The hospital has been completed but governor deems it fit that a good road network linking the hospital and main road is equally important looking at the urgency with which snake bite victims need immediate attention.
