PRESS STATEMENT
As you are aware, the Gombe State Transition Management Committee was constituted by His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON as a means of facilitating a smooth and effective transition from outgone administration to the new administration.
The Committee held an interactive meeting with all permanent secretaries and overseeing directors of various ministries, departments and agencies in the state today, 31 May 2023.
A major objective of the interface was to provide permanent secretaries with an overview of the responsibilities and duties of the Transition Management Committee, as well as to inform them about the roles and responsibilities expected of them during the transition period.
During the meeting, a number of issues regarding handover reports submitted by various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies were discussed extensively and measures that need to be taken to ensure that MDAs resubmit robust and detailed reports were identified.
Moreover, the Committee emphasized to them that they have to put a great deal of effort into their dual roles as acting chief executives and accounting officers of the MDAs so as to make sure the government business doesn’t suffer during this period of transition.
While assuring the permanent secretaries about the readiness of the Transition Management Committee to work assiduously towards addressing the multifarious challenges facing their MDAs, the Committee appealed for continuous cooperation of the permanent secretaries and overseers throughout the transition period.
