Gombe State Government has been commended for the high level of commitment in creating safe space for learning and teaching to thrive in the state.
The commendation was given by the National Coordinator of UBEC Model Smart Schools, Professor Bashir Galadanci today during an inspection of completed Gombe Smart School and the flag off of training program for teachers in the school.
Professor Galadanci said among the 37 schools constructed in the country, Gombe is one of the best with state of the art facilities meant to further encourage the state government to do more in it’s quest to address challenges in the education sector of Gombe State.
He said the school consist of Early Child Care Development Education, Nursery, Primary and Junior sections which will this session begin academic activities.
In an address the Secretary to the State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi thanked UBEC for collaborating with the State Universal Basic Education Board in coming up with the model school and assured that Government on its part will at all the time fulfill it’s obligations.
The SSG said since the inception of the present administration in 2019, under the stewardship of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, so many projects were executed via the declaration of state of emergency policy that overhauled the education sector.
Professor Njodi said this will continue in the second term of the administration to ensure that not only quality education is provided but the system will be accessible for all communities in the state.
The SSG was accompanied to the inspection by the State Head of Civil Service Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary ministry of Education Adamu Abubakar, other Permanent Secretaries, the Chairperson, Teachers Service Commission Mrs Naomi Philip Maigwa and the SUBEB Secretary Fatima Umar Abubakar among others.
