Gombe State being strategically located at the center of the North East Sub region, the Government considered it economically wise to provide a World class standard International Conference Center at Gombe Township being the State capital.
It is based on the concept of revenue consolidation that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Gombe State Alh. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo OON, (Talban Gombe) decided to establish a center that will serve as one of the economic base that will generate revenue when fully operational. It is envisaged that the provision of the edifice will create employment opportunity and create numerous commercial activities within the State as well as provide avenue for social and cultural exchange of positive values and ideas.
The construction of the International Conference Center was commenced in November 2012 with a contract period of 30 months.
AVAILABLE FACILITIES AT THE CENTER
The International Conference Center is aimed at providing a conducive venue for conferences, Seminars, meetings, dinner and other social gathering. The center is divided into two (2) by Pre-function plaza at the middle. It is call West wing and East wing.
- PRE-FUNCTION PLAZA
The Pre-function plaza divides the building into west and east wing. It has a fountain and sits out on both sides. It is designed to accommodate participants awaiting start of events at the center.
- EAST WING
The East wing has two floors, ground and first floor.
The ground floor consist of An Open exhibition area, lounge, Café kiosk, One pair Escalators &Toilets.
The first floor consists of Meeting Hall 1 (300 to 500 seating capacity), Meeting Hall 2 (126 Seating capacity), Mini meeting rooms 1 & 2 (20 to 30 Seating capacity), Pre-function lobby & Office.
- WEST WING
The West wing has three floors. The ground floor consists of Multipurpose Hall (Ball Room) (1500 to 3000 Seating capacity Hall depending on seating arrangement), Executive waiting lounge, Escalators, Lifts, Media center, Board room (25 Seating capacity), Exhibition lounge, Stores, Business center, Shops, Event planners Department, ATM/public phone booth, Kitchen/service staff room, and Toilets.
The first floor consists of Seminar Hall 1&2 (100 and 150 seating capacity respectively), Restaurant/Banquet (150 Seating capacity), Registration lobby, Functions officer office, Café lounge 2, CCTV monitoring room, Equipment/service room, General office/Management pavilion, and Toilets.
The second floor consists of Seminar Hall 3,4&5 (100, 150 and120 seating capacity respectively), Mechanical and Electrical room, Projector room, and Toilets.
