Gov. Dankwambo Lays Foundation of Housing Units For Cooperative Society Of The NSCDC

Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has today performed the foundation laying of three hundred and two housing units of the Cooperative Housing Estate phase one belonging to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Performing the event at the site of the Housing Estate along Gombe Bauchi road, the Governor commended the Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for ensuring the realization of their objective, pointing out that the Cooperative Society has come of age and commited to improving the welfare of its members.

Represented by his Deputy Mr Charles Yau Illiya, the Governor assured that government on its part would continue to assist security agencies to facilitate smooth discharge of their statutory responsibility of protecting lives and property.

While urging them to maintain the tempo, Governor Dankwambo also commended the NSCDC Cooperative for according priority to the provision of shelter which is one of the basic necessities of life pointing out that the gesture would go a long way in complementing government’s activities in the area of provision of housing needs to its citizens.

In his remarks the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana thanked Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo for supporting the Command in Gombe State.

He said the establishment of Cooperative Society across the Corps formation was a deliberate attempt to cushion hardship and enhance productivity among the personnel, commending the Gombe State Command for being upto expectations.

The Corps State Commandant Altine Sani Umar represented by the Assistant Commandant Muazu Mohammed explained that the Cooperative Society has assisted its members to be able to acquire personal accommodation and has also contributed in boosting agriculture in the state through supply of organic fertilizer to farmers at affordable rates.

The Chairman of the Corps Cooperative Stephen Moses speaking on the project completion and overview explained that the project consist of two hundred 2 bedrooms bungalows and one hundred and two 3 bedrooms bungalows and that the estate will be fitted with modern facilities to include health Centre, ATM, School, Fire Service, Multipurpose hall, Pipe borne water, Shopping Complex among others.
