Gombe State Ministry of Community Development and Poverty Alleviation went on to Community Development Offices in the state

The Ministry of Community Development and Poverty Alleviation has embarked on three (3) days sensitization tour of the Eleven (11) Local Government Community Development Area Offices across the State.

The Honorable Community, Alh. Yusuf Manu Swa who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. S.T. Yari visited all the eleven (11) Local Government Community Development Area offices and Poverty Coordinators to ascertain their successes and challenges. The tour revealed that most of the Area Offices need renovation, furniture, additional staff, mobility etc. to discharge their official duties effectively.

The Permanent Secretary expressed his appreciation on the determination of the Area Officers to discharge their duties within strenuous environmental factors and charge the Area Officers to be up and doing with their duties to enable the Government have first-hand information on the needs of the various Communities with a view of salvaging them. He further assured of Government’s determination to assist Area Offices with working materials to facilitate their activities. Poverty Coordinators were also advised to collect data in all wards of their Local Government Areas in respect of the disable, the vulnerable ones, such as the blind, deaf, widows, dumps, orphan, others etc.

The Area Officers visited expressed their gratitude to the Honorable commissioner for the visit and assured the Ministry that they will be committed in the execution of Community Development Projects and undertake in Poverty Mapping.

The delegation comprised of the Director Admin and Finance Alh. Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, the Director Community Development Mr. Justin Doka and Heads of Poverty Alleviation, Mr. David Simon and Planning, Mal. Dayyabu Mohammed respectively.
