The State Deputy Governor has called on the youths to be proactive in their engagement and participate in nation building for a brighter society.
Mr Charles Yau who hosted the youths under the aegis of Association of Christian Youths in his office during a courtesy visit said the society looks up to them and their dispositions to issues today would determine what the future becomes.
The Deputy Governor explained that the recent signing of the “ Not too young to run” law can only be realistic when the youth avails themselves to the process of elections, beginning from the acquisition of Permanent Voters Card through aspiring and contesting for offices.
He congratulated the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe Chapter for coming on board and highlighted on the enormous responsibilities that lie ahead of them, advising them to be patient and resilient in the posture so as to surmount the challenges towards success.
Speaking earlier, the president of the Association Mr. Charles Lugard Dio said they were in the Deputy Governor’s office on a familiarity visit, after newly coming on board, and as well as seek fatherly advice for the success of their assignment.
He said the Association has been duly registered with government and highlighted its activities to include:- imparting entrepreneurial skills to Christian youths and women, encouraging youths awareness and involvement in agriculture and government activities amongst others.
The Permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s office Alh. Usman sambo Abubakar, the Director Administration and Finance Deputy Governor’s office Mrs asabe Pilang Sogi were among the dignitaries during the courtesy visit.
