A total number of one thousand, one hundred and thirty eight 2017 Batch “A” stream one Youth Corps members have successfully completed their mandatory one year National Service in Gombe State.
Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo who was the Special Guest of Honour during their passing out parade at Pantami Township stadium, Gombe appreciated their contributions in the upliftment of the living standard of people in Gombe state.
Represented by His Deputy Mr. Charles Ya’u Illiya, the Governor advised the youths that s they enter into the labour market they should take advantage of government programmes aimed at assisting them to be self reliant instead of fruitlessly searching for non-existing white colar jobs.
He commended the NYSC for introducing the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme into the activities of the scheme to prepare them to be enterpreneurs and future employers of labour.
The Governor congratulated the youth corps members especially the winners of the state award for the success achieved, pointing out that the history of NYSC in Gombe state will never be complete without mentioning their contributions praying God to grant their future ambitions.
Speaking earlier, the state coordinator Mr. David Pwanii Markson explaind that a total number of one thousand, one hundred and thirty eight 2017 Batch “A” stream one Youth Corps members have successfully completed their mandatory service year in Gombe state.
According to him, two corps members lost their lives during the year and out of the 1138, youth corps members three won the state NYSC Award.
He thanked the Governor of Gombe state, Head of Civil Service Alh. Adamu Haruna Abubakar and all those who contributed to the success of the NYSC; wishing the outgoing youth corps members safe return to their destinations and success in their future endeavours.
Highlights of the occasion include inspection of match pass both in slow and quick march order.
